Everything you need to know to prepare for an exam with StudyBuddy. Signed in, you can also write to us from the Help page in the app.

Create a free account

Getting started

  1. Create a free account with your name, email and a password.
  2. Create a subject for your exam and, if you know it, set the exam date.
  3. Add questions: write them yourself, import a CSV or JSON file, generate them from your notes, or upload an old exam as PDF or Word.
  4. Or add a ready-made test exam from the Subjects page and start practising straight away.

Practice and spaced review

  1. Answer a question and say how sure you were: guessing, fairly sure or certain.
  2. You see the explanation straight away. For open questions you compare your answer with the model answer and grade yourself.
  3. Each answer schedules the question again: a lucky guess comes back tomorrow, a certain answer can wait weeks.
  4. The Review page shows what is due today. A quick drill gives you a few questions when you only have five minutes.

Practice exams

  1. Start a timed practice exam from a subject. All questions sit on one page and the clock keeps running.
  2. Answers are graded on the server, so the score is one you can trust.
  3. Afterwards you see each question with your answer, and can practise the ones you missed.

The AI tutor

  1. Upload your notes, slides or textbook chapters as PDF, Word or text to a subject.
  2. Ask a question in your own words. The tutor answers from your material and names the document and page.
  3. The tutor can also explain a mistake you made and generate new questions from your material.
  4. AI requests count against a daily limit: 10 a day on Free, 60 on Pro. You may be asked to confirm your email address first.

Study plan and progress

  1. With an exam date set, the study plan spreads the questions you still need over the days left.
  2. Progress shows how well you know each topic and which questions you miss most.
  3. Set a daily goal and email reminders in Settings.

Plans and billing

  1. Free costs nothing and has no time limit. Pro costs €6.99 a month or €59 a year and adds more AI requests each day.
  2. Upgrade, change or cancel your plan on the Plan page in the app. Payments run through Stripe.

Your data

  1. Uploaded files are read once and discarded; only the extracted text is kept, and only you can see it.
  2. You can remove a document, a subject or your whole account at any time in the app.
  3. The privacy policy explains what is stored and why.
